A federal judge last week issued a nationwide injunction banning Starbucks from illegally terminating US workers seeking to unionise.
The first-of-its-kind cease-and-desist order against the coffee giant would allow the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to seek the swift reinstatement of workers believed to have been fired for engaging in protected activities.
Starbucks could also be held in contempt and fined if were found to have violated the order from the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
