Since the European Court of Justice’s May 2019 decision to introduce working time recording systems across the EU, German employers have been waiting anxiously for the implementation of relevant legislation.

In September, and not wanting to delay complying with Germany’s EU obligations any longer, the Federal Labour Court made a landmark decision to incorporate EU requirements into existing statutory law.
