The UK’s Trades Union Congress launched a new AI taskforce on Monday as it calls for “urgent” new legislation to safeguard workers’ rights.

Bringing together specialists in law, technology, politics, and HR, the taskforce aims to publish a draft AI and Employment Bill by early 2024 and lobby for its incorporation into UK law.

Amid growing concerns about the increased use of AI in the workplace, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will host a global summit on AI in November.
