An Uber Eats driver has reached an undisclosed financial settlement with the food-delivery giant, following allegations that facial recognition checks required to access the platform’s app were racially discriminatory.

The case is among the first in the UK to consider artificial intelligence and automated decision-making in the context of work and the potential for unfairness and discrimination.
