Singapore’s call for longer working hours amid omicron surge raise business risks

Singapore has urged employers to implement business continuity plans as omicron infections rise in the city-state. Seeing the disruption caused by omicron to businesses globally in late 2021, the government has also called on workers to help minimise interruptions to operations by working longer hours. Lawyers cautioned, however, that there are financial and wellbeing risks to staff putting in more hours.
