Ahead of last week’s Queen’s Speech that would lay out the UK government’s legislative priorities, many organisations eagerly expected to see a new Bill containing a range of measures intended to improve employee experiences in the workplace.

From flexible working rights to stronger legal protection of pregnant employees and carers, as well as the creation of a single enforcement body to protect employee rights, the new statute was being billed as a high priority for the parliamentary legislative programme.
