Hong Kong toughens covid restrictions as omicron rages

Hong Kong has appealed for employers to allow staff to work from home wherever possible, as the city battles to control the omicron variant raging through the territory.

Among its attempts to cope with rising infections rates, the local government has strengthened the scope of its vaccine pass, put in place tougher social-distancing measures, and considering reform of employment law to allow unvaccinated employees to be terminated.
