Belgium, Ireland, and Spain have been referred to the European Court of Justice for failing to fully transpose new EU rights on work-life balance for parents and carers.

Adopted in 2019, the Work-Life Balance Directive aims to help people develop their careers and family life, without having to sacrifice either.
