The Workers (Predictable Terms and Conditions) Bill achieved royal assent on Tuesday, giving workers in the UK increased control over their working hours, combatting the “one-sided flexibility” currently experienced by workers on atypical contracts.

Introduced by Blackpool South MP Scott Benton and Baroness Anderson, the government-backed law gives all workers the legal right to request a predictable working pattern from their employer.
