Next has apologised to thousands of staff who were underpaid for several months after a new payroll system malfunctioned.

The Sunday Times reported that the high street firm began having issues in February, after outsourcing its payroll system to US firm Oracle. This led to a number of its 43,000 employees being underpaid, with some left up to £200 out of pocket a month.
