As inflation outstrips wages across Europe, a new EU deal will see member states required to assess whether their existing minimum wage protections adequately ensure a decent standard of living for workers.

Using international benchmarks, the draft law agreed earlier this week will see countries across the bloc set their minimum wages to at least 50% of the average gross wage and 60% of the median gross wage.
