Draft European regulations designed to increase gender balance on corporate boards and make companies more accountable for their social and environmental impact took a step closer to becoming reality this week following votes by MEPs.

The EU Parliament’s Women’s Rights and Legal Affairs committees on Wednesday backed talks with the EU Council on a bill aimed at ensuring gender parity on boards of publicly listed companies operating within the European bloc.
