The UK government has proposed making it easier to hold employers accountable for fraud committed by their staff. This will also mean that prosecutors will no longer have to prove company bosses ordered or knew about an employee’s fraudulent activity for them to be held accountable.

In terms of new measures, large companies that fail to put in place reasonable measures to prevent fraud from being committed by their employees may be held criminally liable for that failure.
