After five days of negotiation last week, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) reached a preliminary labour agreement with Hollywood studios, potentially bringing an end to one of the two major strikes in Tinseltown.

“The WGA has reached a tentative agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP),” the union said in a message to its members on Sunday.

“This was made possible by the enduring solidarity of WGA members and extraordinary support of our union siblings who joined us on the picket line for over 146 days.”
