Although Saturdays are not working days in many Belgian companies, case law and legal doctrine generally accept that they must be considered a working day when calculating some employment law terms. This is particularly the case for notice letters, dismissals for serious misconduct, and medical certificates for work incapacity.

Notice letters

In case of dismissal with notice to perform, the notice letter must be sent by registered mail, which only takes effect the third working day after its sending.
