Spain is facing an economic slowdown, as a result of myriad issues. From increased labour costs and political uncertainty eroding investor trust, to an obsolete and increasingly de-industrialised production model, and the impact of new technologies and AI, a perfect storm of issues is impacting the Iberian state.

It is against this backdrop that Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez formed his third successive coalition government last November. And with it came pledges to significantly change huge swathes of the labour landscape.
