Last month, the media reported that Spanish national postal service Correos had been forced to terminate a contract with McKinsey & Company because the consulting firm had not properly implemented its Equality Plan.

KPMG, who had also bid for the contract, successfully challenged the award, alleging that McKinsey, although it had an Equality Plan, had not registered it.

The news is an important warning of what can happen if a company that is legally obliged to have such a plan in place fails to do so.
