On 22 October, Giorgia Meloni became Italy’s first female premier. Her watershed election victory in September also ushered in the most right-wing government since the second world war. This success for the so-called “Post-Fascism” movement has led to concern, at home and abroad. There are also worries that, despite elevating her to the top of Italian politics, Meloni is bad news for women’s career progression.
