In a recent ruling (no. 4404 of 10 February 2022), the Italian Supreme Court found that an employer can lawfully dismiss an employee who refuses a transfer to another office.

Bear in mind that one of the fundamental elements of any employment contract is the place of work, where the employee must turn up to perform the job he is contracted to do.
