Settlement talks between Meta, its content outsourcing firm, and almost 200 former Facebook content moderators in Kenya have collapsed, meaning an unfair dismissal lawsuit brought by workers will continue in Nairobi.

The moderators allege that they were fired by Sama, a California-headquartered content moderation firm, which had acted as Meta’s subcontractor in Kenya, in retaliation for complaints about working conditions and attempts to form a union.
