As highlighted by the #MeToo and other related movements, violence and harassment in the world of work, including gender-based violence and harassment, are not limited to any particular country or industry, but are sadly widespread around the globe.

To address the situation, the ILO Convention on Violence and Harassment 2019, and the Recommendation on Violence and Harassment 2019 (Recommendation 206), were adopted by the International Labour Conference on 21 June 2019.
