Injured Irish worker claim a lesson in poor conflict management

In a disability claim described as “quite simply beyond belief in this day and age”, Ireland’s Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) has fined an employer €14,000 (£12,000) for dismissing a worker while he was recovering from a fractured pelvis.

Suing Gabriel O’Brien Crane Hire, Enda Fox alleged that his dismissal amounted to disability discrimination in breach of the Employment Equality Act.
