“I’m conscious that, perhaps, my journey is not one that’s easy for everyone to relate to,” remarks Fatim Jumabhoy, head of Herbert Smith Freehills’ (HSF) employment, pensions, and incentives team in Asia and first-ever managing partner of the international firm’s Singapore office. The daughter of refugees, Jumabhoy grew up a working-class girl in Birmingham, UK, before having a successful career at the independent Bar. Ten years ago, she relocated her young family halfway around the world to become one of Asia’s leading cross-jurisdiction employment lawyers.
