Encouraging rise in UK women in higher paid roles, study shows

Often described by critics as a “blunt instrument” to measure equality, the UK’s gender pay gap reporting rules have led to an encouraging rise in female representation at higher pay grades, according to a new analysis of official data.

With the hope of instigating widespread change, the UK Gender Pay Gap Regulations, introduced in April 2017, require organisations with more than 250 employees to disclose their mean and median gender pay gaps for hourly and bonus pay.
