With the MeToo movement and covid pandemic shining an uncomfortable spotlight on gender inequality, and legislative efforts to close the gender pay gap gaining momentum globally, multinationals should consider voluntarily embracing pay transparency.
From a commercial perspective, using ubiquitous phrases such as “competitive salary” or “dependent on experience” on job postings, and asking prospective employees about their current salary, seem no-brainers for many businesses. But that may all be about to change.
