DoJ settles citizenship discrimination claim against Georgia Tech

The Georgia Institute of Technology will pay half-a-million dollars to settle allegations that its career services website, designed to help students find employment, discriminated against non-US citizens.

Last Friday’s settlement is the latest example of the federal government’s efforts to address the impact that automated platforms – specifically ones that provide users with tools and filters that enable unlawful restrictions – have on civil rights.
