Global delivery giant DHL will pay $8.7m (£6.9m) to settle a long-running class race discrimination lawsuit, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has confirmed.

The federal lawsuit, filed in 2010, claimed DHL subjected black workers in Chicago “to different terms and conditions” and to “less desirable, more difficult, and/or more dangerous dock and route assignments than white employees”.
