Chinese court clarifies policy of promoting work on social media
Hailed as a landmark ruling, a recent court decision in China has brought attention to a controversial employer practice of requiring employees to promote work-related content on their personal WeChat accounts.
The case, which was decided last year but has gained media attention more recently, involved a driver named Chen, who was fired from a maternity hospital for refusing to share articles posted on his employer’s WeChat account to his personal account.
