The UK’s Global Talent visa is available for leaders or potential leaders in academia, research, arts and culture, and digital technology. The Global Talent visa replaced the Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) route just before the covid-19 lockdown in early 2020. Applications are now increasing as more talented workers seek to take advantage of the UK’s position as a global creative and research hub. In 2022, there were 2,980 Global Talent visas issued, compared with 794 in 2019 – in other words, there has been a 275% increase in approvals over a three-year period.
