Faced with a growing labour shortage, the Bundestag passed new legislation last Friday designed to make Germany a more immigration-friendly nation and attract more foreign skilled workers to the country.
“The Skilled Workers Immigration Act (Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz) creates new opportunities to enter Germany for gainful employment and thus helps companies to meet the constantly growing challenges of the shortage of skilled workers,” says Freshfield’s Judith Ricarda Römer.
