The world’s largest trial of a four-day working week has been hailed as a “major breakthrough” after the vast majority of participating employers revealed plans to make shorter weeks a permanent fixture of their organisations.

The UK-based research, published on Tuesday, demonstrates the benefits of reduced-hour, output-focused working, with improvements to employees’ wellbeing, talent retention, and revenue, researchers said.
