A judge in California this week tentatively denied Tesla’s latest effort to dismiss a civil rights lawsuit accusing the electric car manufacturer of racial discrimination and harassment.

In its complaint, the state’s Civil Rights Department (CRD) describes Tesla’s assembly plant in Freemont as a “racially segregated workplace” where hundreds of Black workers have allegedly been subjected to mistreatment, harassment, unequal pay, and a hostile work environment.
