Starbucks ordered to reinstate union leader as labour violations mount

A federal labour judge has ruled that Starbucks violated labour laws when it fired a store supervisor after they had begun promoting a union – the latest in a mounting series of court losses faced by the coffee giant over staff dismissals linked to union activity.

The employee, Rhythm Heaton, had worked at the Aston Place store in Manhattan and was terminated a month after demanding bargaining and information on behalf of the Starbucks Workers United union.
