Compressed workweeks, introduced in Singapore at the beginning of the covid pandemic, may no longer be necessary, employment experts say, adding that there are risks to employers and their workers if the arrangement was to continue in the long term.

In the city-state, a compressed workweek does exactly what it says on the tin: an employee’s contractual weekly hours are maintained but must be completed over a shorter period, thereby allowing the worker to take more days off.
