Law firm Reed Smith tried to cover up instances of sexual harassment that pervaded American football’s Washington Commanders team for decades, according to allegations in a US congressional report published last week.

The global firm is said to have offered “hush money” to victims and critics of the football team’s owner, Daniel Snyder, during investigations into sexual harassment and bullying within the organisation. Reed Smith has denied the allegations.
