The Ontario government has revealed new plans to protect remote workers from being “taken advantage of” during mass layoffs.

Under the proposed changes, announced on Monday, employees who work solely from home would be eligible for the same enhanced eight-week notice or pay-in-lieu as in-office staff in mass termination situations.
