US companies are trying to avoid layoffs in favour of measures that maintain the stability of their workforces and allow them to retain key talent, a new law firm study suggests.

Littler’s survey of more than 450 US-based in-house lawyers, c-suite executives, and HR  professionals has found that – while current economic uncertainty is driving caution in hiring strategies – layoffs are not as widespread as media reports would indicate.
