New York AG hits firm with cease and desist over Uber, Lyft deal

A New York plaintiff law firm must stop soliciting Uber and Lyft drivers to access settlement funds secured by the Office of the Attorney General, the state’s top legal team has warned.

In a cease-and-desist letter dated 16 February, Labor Bureau Chief Karen Cacace accused Held & Hines of sharing “deceptive posts” on social media promising to help drivers claim their share of a historic multimillion-dollar backpay settlement for an “excessive” fee.
