Christmas may be coming early for Mexico’s private-sector employees, as a new bill seeks to provide workers with an entire month of pay as a holiday bonus. The move is the latest in a string of daft employee-friendly legislation in Latin America’s second largest economy.

Currently, Mexican employers must pay a Christmas bonus consisting of 15 days of salary before the 20 December, while workers who have been employed for under a year must be given a proportionate amount according to time worked.
