Mexico’s Labor Ministry issued new work-from-home rules last Friday that requires employers to pay for the associated costs of teleworking and ensure that remote-working environments are safe for employees.
The NOM-037 regulations, which go into effect in six months’ time, have been incorporated into Official Mexican Standards on Safety and Health at Work. It requires organisations to provide workers with a written policy that states the length of the work schedule and lists their guaranteed labour rights and conditions.
