Kaiser settles EEOC racial harassment lawsuit

Kaiser Permanente will pay $140,000 to settle a racial harassment lawsuit filed by the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) on behalf of a former black employee, the federal agency announced on Tuesday.

According to the EEOC’s lawsuit, Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington allowed an African American employee at its at its Tacoma Medical Center to be harassed by a co-worker’s repeated use of a racial slur.
