A sales executive who was sacked without a formal warning following allegations of bullying has been awarded a record sum in compensation by Ireland’s Workplace Relations Commission (WRC).

The WRC found the former employee was unfairly dismissed and awarded him €329,199 under the Unfair Dismissals Act and the Payment of Wages Act. The compensation figure amounts to 75% of the employee’s financial loss over two years.
