Hong Kong has expanded the list of industries entitled to bring in skilled workers without applying for an employment visa or entry permit. Under the change, professionals from the “finance” and “construction and development” sectors are now eligible for the two-year pilot scheme.

Rolled out in June 2022, Hong Kong’s Immigration Facilitation for Visitors Participating in Short-term Activities scheme allows overseas professionals from 12 designated industries to take up pro bono or paid jobs in the city for two weeks without applying for a work visa.
