Former Epstein Becker Green partner Erika Collins has joined Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath in New York as new co-leader of the firm’s international employment law group.
Collins spent almost two years as co-head of Epstein Becker Green’s international employment law team, before which she was the chair of both Proskauer Rose’s and Paul Hastings’ international employment teams, respectively.
“As companies seek a competitive advantage and growth in new geographies, labour and employment concerns are a critical component of any cross-border transaction,” said Cheryl Orr, leader of Faegre Drinker’s international labour and employment practice.
“Erika brings nearly three decades of experience helping multinational public and private companies handle their most complex employment and human resources needs during times of transition.”
Orr added that the new Faegre Drinker partner would “bolster” the firm’s international capabilities, and that Collins’ collaborative approach and client-centred focus make her “an excellent cultural fit”.
Cross-border M&A transactions are a core part of Collins’ practice, where she is well-versed in identifying employment risks and providing advice on business transfer regulations. She also has experience with data compliance issues, specifically the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation.
Collins brings her experience of working on employment issues in more than 150 countries to a firm with more than 120 attorneys in its international labour and employment practice.
“I am thrilled to join a team of talented labour and employment attorneys who serve as go-to advisors for some of the world’s largest employers,” said Collins on her arrival at the Minneapolis-headquartered firm.
“In addition, the firm’s robust corporate practice and international presence in the UK and China enhances my ability to help clients navigate both labour and employment and cross-border M&A matters.”
