Anti-discrimination and harassment policies are not worth the paper they are printed on if companies fail to enforce them, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has warned in a new wave of lawsuits aiming to protect Muslim workers.

In West Virginia, building material manufacturer UFP Ranson has agreed to pay $215,000 to settle a claim for religious and racial discrimination against a Muslim employee, the workplace civil rights agency announced last Friday.
