Changes to China’s anti-corruption legislation will formalise anti-bribery regulations for private enterprises and increase punishment for some violations.

Seen as an effort by Beijing to crack down on private-sector corruption, the 12th Amendment of PRC Criminal Law, which comes into effect on 1 March, imposes tougher financial penalties and custodial sentences on bribe givers and takers.
