A UAE-based company has been ordered to pay AED 120,000 (£25,800) to a woman after backtracking on a job offer it had made to her. The ruling will likely lead to employers taking greater care that their offers are made in good faith, and that they provide more transparency in their hiring processes.

Before the Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Court, the worker claimed AED 187,000 (£40,250) in compensation for lost income and future opportunities.
