Across the globe, governments have been encouraging businesses to make flexible working arrangements a permanent feature of the post-pandemic workplace. Earlier this month, the Netherlands went a step further after its lower house of parliament approved amendments to the Flexible Working Act (Wet flexible werken) requiring employers to give a reason for rejecting an employee’s work from home request.
