“If a dog bites a man, it is not news”, is a well-known aphorism in journalism which aims to differentiate between everyday occurrences and actual news. But in the world of legal publishing, some everyday occurrences end up being real stories.

Take, for instance, the recent Australian case of State of New South Wales v Knight in which a remote worker successfully sued for compensation after – yes, you guessed it – being bitten by a dog outside her own home.
