President Joe Biden is expected to rescind a Trump administration rule that imposed rigid procedures on how the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) settles employment discrimination claims.

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 requires the EEOC to try to conciliate – settle – charges of discrimination the agency believes have merit before it can consider litigation.
